Social Work

With International Biochar Initiative and Education Without Borders Intl., youth from across the United States travel to small communities where they get involved in voluntary work like building compost toilets for Indigenous Panamanian and Nicaraguan pickers. They are also bringing the technology to build wood stoves that burn clean with no pollution and produce biochar that can be used in organic fertilizers. More on biochar.

We are working with Vancouver Island University in rural community tourism projects and services that go beyond current "ecotourism" by delivering the power and opportunities directly to local communities.

In association with Santos Tours we are creating community tourism that brings local communities a type of tourism that enhances their income but also the way they look at what they own and they should protect as the owners of the tourism infrastructure.

Sol Colibrí supplies Ecoteach and Algonquin College products at low prices for them to use in their fund raising initiatives.

We are in the process of finding funds to build a shelter for the women pickers in those communities so when they have babies, instead of going with their babies to pick coffee as soon as a week after they are born, they can be treated at least for the 40 days every woman on this planet deserves.
