We use organic methods that include soil conservation, hand-crafted bio-fertilizers, as well as composts made from the pulp of the coffee fruit. ECO-LOGICA is a socially responsible certifieing agencie based in Costa Rica.

Certified Shade-Grown by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center.

Studies conducted by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center have found that migratory bird populations suffer from the trend in coffee farming to completely clear the land of trees, both native and non-native species, thereby destroying bird habitat.

Trees are vital to the farm and the overall sustainability of the coffee agro-ecosystem. By incorporating more native species, as well as fruit trees and banana plants we are creating food for birds, mammals, insects and for us, too!

All Latin American coffee organizations since 2004 have been required to purchase a Fair Trade certification. We have chosen to be certified by FLO. This certification costs us €4000 yearly. This gives you the certainty that you are buying coffee where the farmers are getting a fair price.
